NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ AOL) - AOL's MediaGlow publishing division announced the launch of Where It's At, https://www.whereitsat.com, a new website that serves as a guided tour of iconic pop culture landmarks from music, film and television, complete with photos and background stories on why the landmarks are famous. The interactive site lets consumers play an important role by submitting landmarks to be included on the map. Where It's At is powered by MapQuest, https://www.mapquest.com, and it's one of 30 new sites MediaGlow, https://www.mediaglow.com, plans to launch in 2009.
'Where It's At is the ultimate pop culture treasure map that we get to build together with our audience,' said Bill Crandall, vice president, AOL Music. 'We created a powerful online consumer experience that encourages our audience to embrace landmarks around the country that have become iconic experiences. We are very excited to be bringing whereitsat.com to pop culture enthusiasts everywhere.'
Among the landmarks to discover is the real 'Hotel California,' the hospital from "Grey's Anatomy" and Napoleon Dynamite's high school. All the points are plotted on the map so consumers can plan their own themed tours.
