NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Diana Jones, the remarkable singer and songwriter with a slate of new songs that Uncut says "sound like they've spent a couple of generations being marinated on an Appalachian porch," has planned a busy spring, showcasing music from her new album 'Better Times Will Come,' out May 19th (Proper American). Highlights range from New York and California dates to a triumphant return to the UK - where her "haunting purity of voice" (Maverick) has made her a recent press darling and breakout success - culminating in a headlining spot at the renowned Cambridge Folk Festival this August.

In addition, music from Jones' new album, specifically her song "Appalachia", is slated for a featured role in the upcoming PBS documentary, "Coal," produced by legend John Prine. The nod is a natural match for Jones, whose record features several tales of Appalachian life, such as "Henry Russell's Last Words," a heartrending tale of coal miner Henry Russell, who died in the 1927 Everettville cave-in. Also covered by Joan Baez on her most recent Grammy winning release, the song is just one of many that highlight Jones' gift for narrative, including the feisty murder ballad "If I Had A Gun" and the evocative personal family story of "Soldier Girl."

Those aforementioned Appalachians are particularly dear to Diana, who is adopted; it was where she discovered her birth family after years of searching. After this discovery, she planted herself in the soil that she originally sprang from, and her music flowered as never before. Her last record garnered nominations from the Folk Alliance for Song and Emerging Artist of the Year. And 'Better Times To Come', packed with tales of murder, love, hope, and heartbreak, proves her best times have arrived.
