LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Luck Media & Marketing) - Last month, multiple Barbados Music Award winner and modern roots reggae rocker David Kirton (www.davidkirton.com) was a smash hit once again at South By Southwest in Austin, where he blew away the crowd at The Parish and Flamingo Cantina with his trademark song 'Green Camouflage' and other tunes from his recording Time For Change.

Now, with the release of Island Songs for Children, a high spirited collection of original Barbadian children's folk songs, the popular singer-songwriter is becoming a hit with a much tougher audience - kids!

The 11-track collection was recently licensed by Fisher Price for their Kid-Tough FP3 Player as part of the toy company's new venture into the world of providing quality, well produced music for children that would be available as downloads on the Internet.

Although the multi-talented entertainer is a self-contained recording artist who focuses his career on adult fare, he regularly performs Island Songs For Children at Barbadian schools and children's events, teaching Caribbean culture and entertaining kids from two to 10 years of age.

Very popular with school teachers and parents, this dance, jump and sing-along album displays a quaint world where days are spent swimming at the beach, riding in donkey carts, eating sno cones (as opposed to snow cones) and learning about fish that fly.

Island Songs for Children is the first in a planned series of island-themed children's products utilizing print, music, film and technology. The idea for the project began when Kirton was unable to find nursery rhymes, characters and stories that his young children could identify with and displayed their island way of life.

David will be performing his children's songs during The Summer Concert Season being held at the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts, MacArthur Park in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 23rd, from 6:30PM 7:30PM.

The series features an array of music from around the world including Grammy artists, internationally recognized musicians and emerging talent performing over 40 different genres of music representing more than 20 countries.
