NEW YORK (Fabolous Fans Website) - Rapper Fabolous has been arrested again after police found a gun in the vehicle in which he was riding.

The rapper, whose real name in John Jackson , was arraigned on charges of criminal possession of a weapon Monday. Bail was set at $2,500.

A security guard at Webster Hall, a downtown club, called police Sunday night after seeing a member of Fabolous' entourage stick a gun in their van, police said. Officers later pulled the van over and allegedly found a 9mm pistol inside.

The rapper's attorney, Albert Ebanks, said Monday the pistol belonged to a bodyguard hired by Fabolous' record company, Elektra, to protect him as he performed.

The bodyguard told police that the gun was his, which should have cleared the 25-year-old rapper of criminal responsibility, Ebanks said.
"When you arrest the bodyguard that doesn't make the papers," he said.

Four other people in the van also face criminal weapons possession charges, said police spokesman Sgt. Michael Wysokowski.

Fabolous was arrested twice in two days in January, once for allegedly driving with a suspended license and the second time after police said they discovered guns in a car he was riding in.

The rapper, whose hits include "Young'n," recently peaked at No. 3 this past week on the USA album chart with his latest release, "Street Dreams."
