Phoenix, Arizona (Top40 Charts/ 101 Distribution) - Phantom Records rap artist Versatilly has signed with 101 Distribution to release his full-length debut album Ruthless on May 12th. The concept of the compelling record focuses on the struggles and the heartache the 27-year-old MC experienced in his hometown of Spring Branch, a community within Houston, Texas. Those fundamentals can be heard in "What Can I Say" and "Please Take Me In," the two singles he plans on pushing to radio. "This album is real personal to me," he says. "I came from a neighborhood that was real poor. I've been through a lot, and I think the recording I put into the album is [a reflection of where I came from." Versatilly, a fifteen-year rap veteran who has released music under different monikers in the past, has a unique swagger and isn't concerned with conforming to the popular trends of today's music. "The music industry now is more club and more bling-bling," he explains. "Everybody does all types of music to chase the money, but I don't do that. I keep it real. Music means more to me than everybody else's bling." For more information or to pre-order Ruthless, visit www.101d.com
