NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Rock Reader Books) - 2009 will be a tremendous year for AEROSMITH, as the band plans its first album of original material since 2001, which it will support with an extensive summer tour. In celebration of these events and the band's storied accomplishments, a new 298 page book, 'AEROSMITH: Essential Interviews' is set for official release through ROCK READER BOOKS/Lulu on May 17, 2009.

Collecting some of the most honest and engaging rock & roll press interactions ever put to print, AEROSMITH: ESSENTIAL INTERVIEWS is available for advance purchase and immediate delivery here: https://www.lulu.com/content/6276340

Beginning with one of AEROSMITH's first extended interviews in 1973, AEROSMITH: ESSENTIAL INTERVIEWS lets 'America's Greatest Rock & Roll Band' tell its own inspirational story. Spanning the legendary hard rock quintet's 35-plus years, the book chronicles 'The Bad Boys from Boston' during their explosive, drug and sex-steered early heyday and the propulsion of mid-70's classics Toys In The Attic and Rocks. The band's fall from grace and initial disintegration as a result of those vices is also explored.

AEROSMITH: ESSENTIAL INTERVIEWS documents how Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford not only survived those decadent experiences, but learned from them, evolved artistically and ultimately forged one of the greatest rock comebacks ever.

Although AEROSMITH never officially ceased to exist, it was always the sum of its parts. So when the original line-up reconvened in 1984 with Perry and Whitford back in the saddle, it fought hard to conquer the hard music world a second time. Touring behind the appropriately-titled Done With Mirrors, Tyler and Perry - the self-touted Toxic Twins - morphed into a lean and mean creative force in their sobriety, crafting one of the decade's signature rock albums, 1987's Permanent Vacation.

The group's continued multi-platinum success behind blockbuster discs like '89's Pump and '93's Get A Grip wasn't without internal tensions. AEROSMITH: ESSENTIAL INTERVIEWS documents how the group very nearly broke up for good in the mid-1990s. But instead, they overcame those issues and persisted, continuing to knock the rock world on its ass well into the millennium. With plans for a new studio album in 2009 - its first disc of original material since 2001's Just Push Play - AEROSMITH has continued to thrive thanks to an unstoppable work ethic and one of the most loyal followings in all of hard rock.

'AEROSMITH: ESSENTIAL INTERVIEWS' is a must-read for fans of America's Greatest Rock & Roll Band. An official release to online retailers and traditional stores will occur in May 2009.
