America on Tuesday, February 17. Fans who tune in to the top rated morning show will see the acclaimed singer/songwriter debuting new songs from her just released this week CD Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics (Soulbird Music/Universal Republic)
As an extra-special treat, India.Arie fans can catch the singer talking music with GMA Anchor Robin Roberts on a segment scheduled to air on tomorrow's show, February 13. The two will be discussing the making of Testimony Vol. 2, which features a bonus track the duo wrote together - 'A Beautiful Day' - as part of ABC Good Morning America's Ultimate Job Match series back in October. On that segment, Robins' was tested (along with the other GMA anchors) to see what her personal characteristics revealed about other possible career paths. Robin's test determined she could have been a composer, lyricist, comedian or drama teacher, and Robin chose lyricist. According to the morning anchor, when she got to thinking about how music had gotten her through some of the most difficult periods of her life - one name stood out: India.Arie. The two got together and cobbled verses for the song 'A Beautiful Day,' which, according to India.Arie: 'Helped bring the words from Robin's soul to life.' The Boston Herald, which praised the new album for its 'gentle world beat flourishes' and evoking 'warm memories,' cited the new song as a 'hopeful' addition to the CD.
