Washington, DC (Top40 Charts/ Tehillah Enterprises PR) - Although it's just the first month of 2009, Terrell Hunt has much to celebrate in the New Year. The RichEscape
Music recording artist has seen a whirlwind of success from his debut recording, Awesome. The praise and worship artist, hailing from
Silver Spring, Maryland, recently received a
Stellar Award nomination for New Artist of the Year. The
Stellar Awards, the genre's version of the GRAMMY Awards, was a career-altering coup for the psalmist.
The first release from the artist and the third release for the label received rave reviews from notables in gospel and popular media outlets as well as airplay from almost 500 stations nationwide. In addition to the nomination, Hunt was tapped to perform on the 24th Annual
Stellar Awards show which taped on January 17, 2009 at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. In Washington, D.C., the
Stellar Awards will air on WDCW on Sunday, February 8th at 1PM EST and Saturday, February 21st at 3PM EST and on cable on Gospel
Music Channel starting Sunday, March 1st.
The accolades seem to keep coming for the singer. Along with his Stellar Award Nomination, Hunt also received a Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) Nomination for Gospel/Inspirational Vocalist. It's the first time that the Nation's Capital music award organization has honored Hunt. WAMA will be handing out awards on Sunday, February 15, 2009, at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA.
Having sung with artists such as Karen Clark-Sheard, Daryl Coley and Yolanda Adams, Hunt has scored countless fans with his riveting performances and original songs. 'Awesome', his debut's title tune and the CD's first single, 'This Is The Day', have captured the hearts of praise and worship lovers. He appeared on BET's Bobby Jones Gospel last year and Worship Leader Magazine hailed his project as 'nothing short of authentic, inspirational worship, rich in Scripture and repetitious praise, Hunt is the devoted leader of one choral anthem after another'.
He was a featured vocalist for sold-out Evangel Cathedral's Christmas Celebration with Vickie Winans and Marvin Sapp in December and will be the guest artist for Purdue University's BVOI Spring Concert in West Lafayette, Indiana on April 5, 2009.
