Usher Raymond IV is bringing along a "New" entourage when he travels to Washington, DC to participate in this year's historic Inaugural activities. The individuals were hand-picked by Usher as a reward for going above and beyond during the campaign. James Harris (Kansas City) registered 500 voters through his church, Arnold LaFrance (New Orleans) got involved in a series of voter registration drives in his hometown which registered 3,000 voters, Chantia Robinson (Atlanta) stayed active even after the election by encouraging Georgia voters to vote one more time during the run-off for State Senate, Mia Barnett (Atlanta) has been an instrumental coordinator of activities throughout the campaign. Under the blog names of "Dewey Da Don", "Supa", "Plie", and "Couture" they will record videos and blog about their trip before, during, and after at www.UshersNewLook.org.
These exemplary young people who share Usher's motto of hard work and service, will be joining Usher during an afternoon of volunteer work at a DC public school on Martin Luther King Day (1/19) and that evening, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty will publicly recognize the New Look four as role models for their leadership during the I Can't But You Can Campaign at the Mayor's Welcome Event.
On Inauguration Day, January 20th, the New Look four will attend the swearing-in of President Elect Obama and later join Usher at the official Inaugural Youth Ball as Usher serves as an MTV co-host during the network's live broadcast of the Ball at 10pm EST.
