Oxon Hill, Maryland (Top40 Charts/ South Capitol Recordings) - His all-new single 'Got the Skillz', released today - January 17th - under South Capitol Recordings, the now well-established record label. The single is doing what LaPret originally wanted his 2007 Debut solo single 'Do a Dub' to do, he's making supporters and critics 'do a double take'. This time they're hearing and seeing a more mature and fitting Recording Artist with a promising hit making solo career.

Proving he's Leaving behind Profound Intent and permanently resigning from all group situations, he proclaims on the Extended Version of the new single 'Got the Skills', 'I been there, I done that, shining with the group thing, the only problem is I'm too much of a beast, I can't be contained' as oppose to 2007's 'Do a Dub' when he stated 'I'm so not use to these solo gigs, but I'ma get use to it before this night ends'and that's exactly what he's done. The rapper has been linked with a new music group called 'Nu Dreem' but no official sources have confirmed such dealings.

The rapper pays a tribute to his biggest musical influences including the late Rapper Notorious B.I.G. and late R&B singer Aaliyah. The salute featured in the alternate or third verse - which can be heard only on the 'Extended Version' of 'Got the Skillz' -, is more than fitting, yesterday - January 16th -Aaliyah turned thirty and the all-new Notorious B.I.G. biopic is now playing in theatres. Execs say they wished for the single to release on January 16, 2009 but due to complications between the label and their distributors, it came a day later on January 17, 2009.

LaPret and his label heavily promoted the single's release via YouTube and Facebook. According to the official site - www.LaPretWorld.com - LaPret is now heading to Atlanta, GA next Thursday to promote this new single as well as his next upcoming single entitled 'Another Day' due in digital stores aptly on Valentine's Day - February 14, 2009. The rapper will be in ATL from January 22nd-26th. On Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 3:00 PM he will attend the HONDA BATTLE OF THE BANDS- 7th annual event at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA.
