(Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - The Recording Academy New York Chapter's will host an up close and personal education event on Wed., Jan 28th bringing noted urban music songwriters/producers to it's new office for an informative discussion. Throughout the year the committee will utilize the talent and experience of The Recording Academy's New York committee members to educate and assist other members and the general public.
WHAT: The Recording Academy New York Chapter presents a GRAMMY Professional Development event, a vibrant discussion between several noted urban songwriters/producers on how they broke in the business, how they secured projects, their business relationships, and numerous other topics relating to this music field.
WHEN: Wednesday, January 28th, 6:30 - 8:30 PM, ET
WHO: Chapter Vice President Barry Eastmond ("You Are My Lady" "There'll Be Sad Songs [To Make You Cry]") hosts an interactive talk with Swizz Beatz, Jimmy Bralower, and the team of Carvin Haggins Ivan Barias.
Swizz Beatz is respected producer/rapper who has worked with the likes of Cassidy, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, DMX, T.I., Eve, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Mashonda (who happens to be his wife), Gwen Stefani, and Beyonce, Swizz's work can be found on more than 100 million albums sold.
Jimmy Bralower has contributed to the success of over 70 gold and platinum recordings with more than 250 million records sold. He's worked with Kurtis Blow, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, R. Kelly, Ryan Shaw and numerous other stars. Most recently he produced three tracks for the new Kate Hudson/Anne Hathaway film Bride Wars.
Haggins Barias are the prolific Philadelphia songwriting and production team nominated for two 2009 GRAMMY Awards for their work with Jazmine Sullivan and Raheem Davaugh. Their impressive list of credits include songs for Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Keyshia Coles, Musiq Soulchild, Mary J Blige, Jill Scott, Jaheim, Anthony Hamilton, Mario, and Faith Evans.
