NEW YORK (Audioslave online community) - Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello is against the Iraqi war not only for the safety of that country's citizens, but also for the safety of people in America. With deployment of troops to the middle east and war waiting in the wings, Morello told us that violence can only beget violence against America and American interests.

"The one way to assure that we will not be safe from terrorism is to try to economically and politically dominate countries in the Middle East," Morello said. "If you want a dangerous world, that's what you should do (laughs). The actions that are being contemplated now by our administration only confirm that - in the eyes of moderates around the region. I think it will be much less safe by continuing down that path."

Morello added that he doesn't want any innocent lives to be taken in the U.S.'s name.
Audioslave is currently touring Europe (the band was being in Milan, Italy on Wednesday January 22).
