Highlights of the evening's festivities was the awards honoring several top artists and songwriters in the genre including Ray Wylie Hubbard, Sonny Landreth, Allison Moorer and Kevin Welch.

One of the evening's many highlights was a riveting performance on gospel standard "I'll Fly Away" by an all-star ensemble featuring Jim Lauderdale, Jerry Salley, Tammy Rogers-King of The Steeldrivers and Jamie Johnson of The Grascals in honor of the 40th Anniversary of the "Brumley Gospel Sing".
