A Letter From Alanis

NEW YORK (Alanis Morissette Official Website) - Alanis Morissette is welcoming in the New Year with a "Feast of Scraps', a new album made up from the offcuts of 'Under Rug Swept'.

She's also letting her fans know how she's going and posted the following letter for them at alanis.com and suggests she is going to have a prolific writing year. "Been waking up in the middle of night with a drive to write which means if I don't start soon I will explode" she says.

Her letter suggests the last few months haven't been great for her and this is probably the source of her current inspiration. "I've been feeling depressed, which I at first thought was post-holiday anti-climatic stuff - which I've experienced after every tour, every break-up, and every Christmas etc - post trauma stress disorder haha) - but I now realize that Ii feel depressed because I have so much I want to say and get out...that I've been holding all this in and that it's making me sick. So for the love of God write and get it out and save some doctor's bills" she adds.

Feast Of Scraps will be released as a single album and in a combo with a live DVD. The first single from Feast Of Scraps, "Fear Of Bliss" is No 25 on the Top40-Charts Internet Sales Singles & Tracks chart.
