WASHINGTON, DC. (Top40 Charts/ Side FX) - In September, 2008, Kim Cameron and the Side FX Band officially released their much anticipated debut album, "Contradictions." The album features a seamless blend of genres, from blues/rock (Her Escape) to country/Americana (Life's Mystery) to New Wave (Scattered), introducing Kim as a standout vocalist with an eclectic sound. Kyrby Raine, of Overground Underground, gushes that lead singer Kim Cameron "seduces us with her soulful tones," noting that the album is "a polished, professionally executed affair with top-flight guitar work."

The Washington, D.C. based band officially came together in 2007 when they took their jam sessions out of the basement and in to local venues and restaurants around town. With music now at the forefront of her mind, frontwoman Kim Cameron was inspired to write the songs on "Contradictions" after her brother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer. From there, songwriting became a positive and therapeutic outlet for expressing how much he had made an impact on her life. "My goal with writing and singing is to help take people away from a frustrating day or sad place and bring them back home; and home is not a location, but rather a place that you can feel grounded and safe," says Kim. In a voice reminiscent of Chrissie Hynde, Kim's sultry alto notes are the perfect complement to the blazing guitar riffs and wailing saxophone solos.

Today, the album has already earned high praise from a select group of bloggers, who were offered a sneak peak of the album during the Summer of '08. Brooke Curtis of Twang Town Reviews says, "the nine cuts that populate 'Contradictions' express real feeling with ambitious musicianship, blending together with ease and excitement," and Adam Harrington of Whisperin & Hollerin calls Side FX a "promising young band rooted in classic-rock aesthetics." With the album now officially out-the-gate, several tracks from their debut album have already been picked up by over a dozen AAA radio stations, numerous internet radio stations and the American Airlines in-flight radio program.
