SEATTLE, WA. (Top40 Charts/ LCMedia) - Recording Artist Paul Lippert addresses themes of truth, democracy, love and hypocrisy on his latest album, 'Democracy for Lovers.'

With the Iraq war in its fifth year, and election year politics in full fever, Lippert pulls no punches and spares no one. The result is a compelling album full of songs that range in spirit from rollicking and electrifying to breathtakingly simple and beautiful. Noted critic Jim Musser called the album 'powerful, literate and passionate.'

'Some of these songs woke me out of my dreaming,' says the Ohio-born, Seattle-based Lippert. 'One of the reasons this album came now is because I felt it was important to wake up others as well.'

Produced by Matt Brown (Trespassers William, Transmissionary Six), 'Democracy for Lovers' is both a fresh and a classic hybrid of Rock, Americana, Folk and Pop.

The title of the album comes from Lippert's sense that, in our country as well as our personal lives, touch choices are well made when led by the heart. "It's time to move beyond our 'Winner Take All Democracy'", Lippert said, referring to the title of one of his most pointed songs. "The urge to shut out those who disagree is strong, but our hearts resist it. These songs are about having the courage to face who we really are - our strengths and our flaws, our follies and our dreams."

Lippert, who sings and plays electric and acoustic guitars on "Democracy for Lovers," is joined by a brilliant line-up of musicians including Keith Lowe on bass, James McAlister on drums, Dan Tyack on dobro and pedal steel, Ron Cook on electric guitars, Holly O'Reilly on backing vocals and Ryan Smith on Hammond organ. Matt Brown is producing and playing guitar as well.
