LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Bug Music Publishing) - Bug Music Publishing, the largest independent contemporary music publisher in the world, has signed a major new deal with chart-topping Southern rock innovators Kings Of Leon, it was announced today by Bug Music CEO John Rudolph. Under the terms of the deal, Bug Music and Kings Of Leon have entered into both a publishing agreement, bringing all four band members exclusively under the Bug Windswept banner, as well as a joint venture agreement that allows the band to pursue ongoing creative projects by signing and developing artists under the Bug Music umbrella. Previously, Bug Music has administered the publishing of band members Matthew and Jared Followill throughout their career, while Windswept had handled Nathan and Caleb Followill through its joint venture with Combustion Music. Now that the companies are one, Bug Music will manage all future publishing interests for the next several albums of all four band members. 'Kings Of Leon are one of the most popular bands of this generation and Bug Music is pleased to continue our long-standing association,' said John Rudolph. 'We believe the band is an extraordinary tastemaker. We welcome their vision in the development of new artists as Bug Music continues to innovate and push the industry's model of a traditional publishing house.' Kings Of Leon have just released what many expect will be their breakthrough album in the U.S., 'Only By the Night' on RCA Records. The first single "Sex On Fire" debuted at No 1 upon release in the U.K. while the album would also go on to debut at No 1. Following its U.S. release, 'Only By the Night' debuted at No 5 on the Billboard charts, the band's highest-ever state-side chart position.
