
NEW YORK (Top 40-Charts) - Shania Twain's latest album, Up!, remains atop the US Albums chart for a fifth consecutive week due to holiday sales of nearly 456,000 copies, according to SoundScan figures obtained from industry sources.
The Shady/Interscope soundtrack to Eminem's feature-film debut, 8 Mile, also surged due to last-minute holiday shopping. 8 Mile is up 133,200 copies from the previous week, jumping from No 5 to No 2 after moving 405,000 units. Meanwhile, Eminem's hit single from the set, "Lose Yourself," remains on top of the US Singles 100 for a seventh consecutive week.
The Dixie Chicks' Home sold 401,000 copies, and Avril Lavigne's Let Go climbed from No 6 to No 4 after 363,000 copies were sold. Jennifer Lopez also saw a sizeable increase in sales of her latest album This Is Me... Then, which moved 345,000 units. The set had a 57 percent sales spike, allowing it to climb from No 8 to No 5.
Tim McGraw's latest project, Tim McGraw And The Dancehall Doctors, slid from No 2 to No 6, but it actually posted an 18 percent gain in sales to 327,000 copies. McGraw's set narrowly topped the latest edition of the multi-artist series, Now! That's What I Call Music, Vol. 11, which sold some 326,000 copies.
Rounding out the top 10 are Justin Timberlake's Justified at No 8, Faith Hill's Cry at No 9, and Christina Aguilera's Stripped at No 10.
