NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Sony Records) - Acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer
Raphael Saadiq is pre-releasing his latest solo album "The Way I See It," on the Ecast broadband media network.
"The Way I See It" went live across more than 10,000 digital jukeboxes in Ecast-powered bars and nightclubs nationwide almost one week before its release in stores. To propel music plays of the album, a throwback to the sounds of Motown, it will be featured in an artist-dedicated interactive video loop, in addition to appearing on the Just Added playlist and the Ecast New Releases video loop, seen by half million music enthusiasts each week.
Raphael Saadiq, an R&B veteran, achieved success in the early 1990s in the popular R&B group Tony! Toni! Tone!. Toward the mid-90s, Raphael broke out to begin his solo career and also began writing songs and producing for other artists including Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, The Isley Brothers, The Roots, Macy Gray, Snoop Dogg, Kelis, Ludacris, The Bee Gees, Joss Stone, and Earth, Wind & Fire. Most notably, in 2000 his songwriting and producing skills helped D'Angelo garner a Grammy award for his work on "Untitled."
"'The Way I See It' recalls the classic Stax and Motown soul sound that is synonymous with jukeboxes and is ideal for our audience," says Lisa Tiver, SVP business affairs, Ecast. "Ecast delivers the unique combination of cutting edge digital technology with a receptive, music-loving audience and naturally social location that ensures the lasting impact so pivotal in getting new music heard, remembered and shared with new fans."
A recent Arbitron study proves that the Ecast broadband network is a great launching pad for getting new music to listeners with results showing that the touchscreen network not only reaches the coveted 21-34 age demographic, but listeners feel passionately about music and 70 percent feel it is a good way to introduce friends and family to music that they like. Other bands and artists who have found success by pre-releasing on the Ecast network include The Verve, Stereolab, Kid Rock, Albert Hammond, Jr., and Augustana.
