NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Southern Ent.) - The self proclaimed "Lord And Savior of Southern Mixtapes" edged out some of Southern Hip-Hop's biggest names and brightest stars and rounded up more nominations than any other artist, DJ, or producer. "This is really a blessing for me because I didn't campaign this year for any awards," exclaimed an overzealous Chuck T. "It's amazing that the one year I don't ask for one single vote I walk away with more nominations than I have in the years I campaigned hard in." DJ Chuck T is no stranger to receiving award nominations though. He's been nominated for over 80 awards in his sort 5 year career as a mixtape DJ and has won close to 30 awards. With 8 Southern Entertainment Awards under his belt already, Chuck T is on pace to achieve the goal he set for himself 2 years ago and win 10 Southern Entertainment Awards. "I always try to make sure my performance lives up to the press and publicity I get," states DJ Chuck T. "I see to it that my mixtapes are as hot as they can possibly be and that every CD I drop is better than the one before it." DJ Chuck T reached 2 other career milestones earlier this year by releasing the 50th volume of his critically acclaimed "Down South Slangin'" mixtape series and being selected as one of MTV's Top Mixtape DJs of 2007. DJ Chuck T first made national headlines in 2008 after leaking Lil' Wayne's Carter III album in response to his harsh comments towards mixtape Djs. He's now engulfed in a bitter war of words with world renowned African-American Movie director Spike Lee over negative comments Chuck T made about Presidential Candidate Barack Obama. DJ Chuck T was scheduled to be the keynote speaker for the Million DJ March in Washington, DC in August but the event was canceled due to inclement weather.
