The documentary examines the single most important day in the career of the legendary Man in Black and the prison where it all took place. This look at the historic Folsom Prison concert reveals a complex Cash and re-establishes this album as one of the most important recordings of the 20th Century.

As Folsom's residents erupt in raucous response to Cash on stage, this film's compelling footage captures the unique yet undeniable relationship of mutual respect he held with the inmates. This camaraderie is particularly evident in Cash's performance of "Greystone Chapel," a song written by Folsom inmate Glen Sherley about the facility's building of spiritual refuge.
