Seattle, WA. (Top40 Charts/ Jake Records) - Jake Records, a leading independent record label, today announced the signing of Hip Hop group Element to the label. The Reno-based group is most known for their years traveling side-by-side as tour mates with
Digital Underground. The two groups first met in Reno many years ago, and enjoyed locked-in tour schedules ever since. Element has played stages from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia with
Digital Underground and is well-liked by audiences for their futuristic, deep-rooted conscious Hip Hop sounds.
The group will be releasing their "Variety Pak" sophomore album on Jake Records later this year, though an official release date has not yet been set. Jake Records VP/Artist Relations Dan Diaz said, "Element is one of those groups you're proud to be working with because their music represents something different. Their sound, their vibe, their flow, everything about Element is unique enough to really make you crank up your speakers and say 'wow, what's that??'" In addition, Diaz says "their exposure to fans all across the United States and abroad with Digital Underground has created a real following that we can tap into. Fans who have the first Element record are anxious to hear this new release."
Element consists of members Metaphysical, Dialect HD, Dash, and Steez. They've been together since 1993 and began performing on small Reno stages from Fall Out Shelter to self-promoted events and house parties, before winning over fans and scoring larger performances at famous venues such as the Universal Amphitheater and The Viper Room in Los Angeles and The Columbia River Gorge Washington state. Since, they've sold more than 12,000 records on their own and toured in nearly all 50 states. Metaphysical said that working with Jake Records "is an honor, especially after they were the ones who released the final Digital Underground album."
Dialect HD said he's excited about the release with Jake Records as well. "I feel that Jake has the vision and resources to put us in a place where our music can precede us," he said. He expects the group "will quench a strong thirst for music today." In addition, rapper Dash wants people to "open their minds to the music because the album has something for everybody," he said.
"If people love this album the way I do, it'll be a 'must play' classic in their collections for years and years to come," said Jake Records Founder and CEO Scott Thomas. "From the first beats to the last track, your head bobs almost continuously when playing this album. Each time I've played it, I pick up on something else I can appreciate in both the lyrics and the music. The sound is unlike anything else that's out there, and I mean that in the best way possible. Element knows how to trip your mind with the music, and I'm stoked to present this to Hip Hop fans across the globe," he added.
