NEW YORK (Top 40 Charts) - Shania Twain's latest album, Up!, remains atop the US Albums chart for a third consecutive week on sales of more than 317,000 copies this week.
Tim McGraw's latest project,
Tim McGraw And The Dancehall Doctors, also retains its Number Two position after moving more than 250,000 units.
Mariah Carey's new MonarC/Island Records album, Charmbracelet, bows at Number Three on the Billboard 200 after the singer-songwriter sold more than 241,000 copies of the set in its first week of release. The figure marks the biggest opening week number of Carey's career, according to her record label.
Charmbracelet bests the opening weeks of 1997's Butterfly (235,000), 1995's Daydream (224,000), 1993's Music Box (174,000) and 1992's Emotions (129,000). It also marks a comeback after Glitter's weak arrival in September 2001: The hotly anticipated first album of her now-dissolved contract with Virgin sold 116,000 copies.
Now That's What I Call Music, Vol. 11--featuring hits from No Doubt, Vanessa Carlton, and Norah Jones, among others--holds at No 4, followed by the soundtrack to Eminem's feature-film debut, 8 Mile, at No 5.
Avril Lavigne's Let Go is at No 6, and Jennifer Lopez's This Is Me...Then is at No 7.
Rounding out the top 10 are 2Pac's Better Dayz at No 8, the Dixie Chicks' Home at No 9, and Faith Hill's Cry at Number 10.
