Music Entertainment)--It has often been said that Kwaito is dead or dying, it is indeed true that there are less credible Kwaito artists than before. Some say that he sounds like Magesh but Sosha is one artist who has not given up on that dream of 'taking Kwaito to the next level' by going back to its roots that largely influenced the likes of TKzee, Mdu, Arthur and many great South African artists.
Born Sbonelo Ngcobo in Mbumbulu, Durban, before moving to eMlazi where it all started. After forming the group Guz Trio, Sosha decided to go solo and this is where he met Alcupoem who would give the best opportunity to advance his career, studio time. To date Sosha has worked with the likes of Chester, Japan, Gunman, Bricks, and has even produced several albums for Dj Sqemeza of Ukhozi Fm, Tyte, Bullistic, Mafiki, Msawawa and many other artists. He has also released an album before titled Lekker by die Huis which made him quite popular.
His latest offering titled 'Time of the Legend' is said to be of the highest quality in terms of Kwaito production. 'I worked with great musicians like Fundile Mdingi, a great pianist, Alcupoem, Guffy and also featured my boys Mondli, Sihle, Sandy B and Zakhele who have added a lot of value to the mix including live instruments,' says Sosha.
His first single titled 'Phakamisa' is already pumping up the street of Mzansi, a tune about 'the good life and partying'.
Sosha's latest album will be released by Dreamer Music Entertainment after inking a deal two months ago with the record label. 'We anticipate this to be the biggest Kwaito album in the country this year', complements Arnold Mhlamvu, MD of Dreamer.
