New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Cheeky B*stard) - There's a current new wave landing on our shores. Last night's Yaz concert at Terminal 5 brought back sweet memories of teenage angst and shiny synth-pop dreams. Now the Cheeky B*stards over at GBH are bringing over Depeche Mode fave Martin Gore (!) to Hiro Ballroom on Thursday, July 24th. Gore will be DJing and rumor has it he's discovered minimal techno! His pairing with Ghostly/Spectral artist Osbourne is another indicator of the direction he's headed and what to expect. Regardless, we'll be there front and center and hope that "somebody" will serenade us like he did way back when... You can also still catch Yaz tonight - Thursday, July 17th at Terminal 5 and Saturday, July 19th at the Beacon Theater. Cheeky B*stard is also hosting the official Yaz after-party tonight at Hiro Ballroom. Yazoo (or 'Yaz' as you might know them) are the re-formed early-'80s electro duo of Vince Clarke & Alison Moyet. They had a string of massive hits including 'Don't Go', 'Situation' and 'Only You', and were (and still are) hugely influential. K.I.M. (one half of Australia's excellent electro band The Presets) is DJing, plus New York's finest electro-rock band, Heartsrevolution will be playing Live!!!
