NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ GDA Media Group) - Axis Unknown will not be reforming as Dan Acosta has called it quits on the project.
Due to on-going health issues, and an overwhelming abundance of dissapointing auditions, Dan Acosta has officially announced the end of modern-rock band "Axis Unknown".
The band was originally formed in 1994, and has seen an amazing 13 year run in it's sometimes turbulent career. Numerous player changes, national & local touring, and several recording efforts that went un-released, have finally taken their toll on the project.
The past year alone has been a rollercoaster ride of dissapointing auditions to replace members, as well as an on-going battle for Dan Acosta with numerous health issues. Priorities had to be changed, and unfortunately, reforming the band isn't one of them anymore. Health-wise, and financially, the project has become a burden not worth pursuing at this point.
Dan Acosta will continue to write, and occassionaly record, new music as a solo artist despite this decision. He has done some collaborations with other Long Island musicians - most notably Roger Silverberg(www.rogersilverberg.com) on an "unplugged" recording project (Roger has provided piano tracks for the project).
These recordings will be a culmination of Dan Acosta's personal life (both the good and bad), as he opens himself up to his fans to give them some insight into the person he's become today. This is expected to be one of his most emotional projects ever.
Side bar: No release date for this CD has been set as of yet, and no supporting gig/tour information for the Cd is available, or expected, until Dan Acosta's health issues improve. As of now, performing will be too much strain on him, as the recording sessions will be held only when Dan feels up to the task, health-wise.
Various Axis Unknown tracks from the expansion of thier career will continue to be posted to www.myspace.com/axisunknown, as well as www.myspace.com/danacosta, so please continue to check back and see what's new. As of now, there are no future plans for the band, but as Axis Unknown fans know from past experiences, anything is possible.
