New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - The Zappa Family Trust announced today that it will celebrate Independence Day by making fifteen long out-of-print albums available for legal digital download. The Frank Zappa "Beat The Boots" series, totaling 148 tracks, will be for sale in the iTunes Store, Amazonmp3, and other sites via the revolutionary digital music service TuneCore.com on Tuesday, July 8. These will be the only authorized Frank Zappa albums available on iTunes.

TuneCore has already democratized half of the music industry by allowing all artists to "sign themselves" to a record contract and have worldwide distribution into iTunes and the other digital download stores while taking no rights, exclusivity or revenue from the sale of the music; it is now democratizing the other half.

Gail Zappa said, "Even though the polar caps are melting away at such a horrendous rate we will probably never need boots again except for wading in worse cacadoody than ever, you can finally get these Beat the Boots on iTunes just in time to be reminded of Liberation of another sort on the 4th of July."

Originally conceived by Frank Zappa as a way to outsell bootleggers, the original eight-album box set 'Beat The Boots I' was released in July, 1991 on Rhino Records. It was followed in June, 1992, by another seven albums, marking 'Beat The Boots II.' Though the albums were later released individually on CD, they have not been in print this century.

Gail Zappa said, "We chose to use TuneCore because it's the fastest and easiest way to get Frank Zappa's music into iTunes, while keeping all of our rights and royalties in the process."

Jeff Price, CEO of TuneCore said, "Excited? What are you kidding me? It's Frank Zappa!"

TuneCore.com has changed the 100-year-old rules and model of the music business. It is a low, flat fee service that delivers anyone's music to iTunes, eMusic, Amazonmp3 and many other major download sites while taking no rights and no revenue from the sale of the music.
