Stephanie Beck Williams to win of the CMT's first
Music City
Madness talent search, the sultry southern singer/songwriter/model agent returns to radio with her newest single, "Not Your Normal Country Girl," (CDX 451, track 14.)
Described as a little country, a little pop, a little rock but all southern, this catchy summer single is her second release and the title track on her album. "Not Your Normal Country Girl," written by Stephanie Beck Williams and husband Dan Williams, was prodded by Williams' real life. Williams explains, "...looking at my experiences, I realized that this is how I have always seen myself, as not your normal country girl. I felt like I needed a song that would explain my style of music and why I am who I am."
Born in Texas and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi, Williams has always been drawn to a fresh country style sound that defines her single and CD release. "My dad bought me my first two albums," she recalls. "The Jackson 5's Greatest Hits and Paper Roses by Marie Osmond. So right from the get-go I was into that pop-meets-country flavor."
Since winning CMT's Music City Madness talent search, Stephanie Beck Williams has been busy with her dual careers as a recording artist and model and talent agent. Along with filming a video for her new single, "Not Your Normal Country Girl" with the world famous, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Williams has started working with Youth Villages, an organization in 11 states that works with foster children. She is performing songs and teaching the trade of modeling and acting to transitional and foster children to help build their confidence and self-esteem.
Williams recently went in to the studio to record the James Brown hit, "Try Me" as an adoption awareness song for the hundreds of thousands of children in the U.S. waiting to be adopted.
"I was really motivated after winning CMT Music City Madness, to do things I always just talked about doing", says Williams. "As an adopted child, I knew it was time to give back."
