New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - On 'Legends of the Preacher', Nation Beat tell the tale of the life and death of an itinerant trickster-preacher through songs that combine the Afro-Caribbean rhythms of northeastern Brazil with the musical styles of the American south- bluegrass, country, and New Orleans second-line funk. Frank London and the Klezmatics also appear on three songs on the disc, which, according to NPR music critic Banning Eyre, adds "the lyricism and transcendent melancholy of klezmer brass, violin, and even some Yiddish vocals to the mix." In fact, the Jewish-Brazilian connection runs deep, as northeastern Brazil was the site of the first Jewish settlement in the New World over 500 years ago.

Nation Beat shows routinely turn into massive dance parties, and fans can expect a mix of songs from the new disc alongside tunes from the 6-piece band's debut album. In addition to the Klezmatics, Nation Beat will be joined by drum troupe Maracatu NY, who will help the band close out the show with a carnaval-style parade off the stage and into the audience. Time Out Chicago has hailed their live shows, writing ""the obvious affection for their sources and sheer moxie they bring make Nation Beat's sound near addictive."
