LONDON, UK (Green Day Official & Fans Websites) - Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has begun an online petition to protest any future war in Iraq.
In an audio message on greenday.com, the singer encourages people to sign the petition, which is accessible on the fan site, greenday.net.

Artists in the U.K. have been even more active in their opposition. Blur's Damon Albarn has joined Massive Attack's 3-D to fund and create numerous ads aimed at increasing awareness and opposition to any British involvement in a U.S.-initiated attack.

Green Day, however, is one of the first American bands to speak out against a possible military strike against the middle eastern country.
"I want to start a petition on greenday.net to send to George W. Bush strongly urging him to rethink his plans for military invasion," says Armstrong in his message. "This petition isn't only for people who live in America, but [for] people all over the world."
