New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ D-Zone Records) - Stratospheerius is playing its only New York City show this summer on July 11 at Fat Baby, 112 Rivington Street (between Ludlow & Essex) at 9 PM. This is near the F and V subways. The venue phone is 212-533-8888 and the web site is https://www.fatbabynyc.com.

Also on the bill is a electric/classical quartet called Metro Strings, which features Stratospheerius' leadsinger/violinist Joe Deninzon, Brazz Tree's Mazz Swift on electric violin/vocals, David Gotay playing electric cello/vocals, and drummer Alan Camlet. Metro Strings perform at 8 PM.

Stratospheerius has a new album called HEADSPACE, and the songs on it combine elements of rock, jazz, funk, Latin and Middle Eastern music. "Today is Tomorrow," "New Material" and "Old Ghosts" have garnered airplay on all kinds of radio formats. In the song "Old Ghosts" the group uses an upbeat melody to sing about folks in the old hometown, who never left their bar stool.

"Heavier Shtettle" is a hora-styled instrumental which was co-written by Joe and Testament/Trans-Siberian Orchestra guitarist Alex Skolnick. There is a straight-ahead cover of Police's "Driven to Tears," plus a range of instrumentals: a bluegrass punk "Gutterpunk Blues," psychedelic roller coaster ride of "Mental Floss." CASHBOX writer Justin Scro reviews, "Stratospheerius is creating a genre of its own," and "the vocal performance of Joe Deninzon is on par with his stringed abilities." Sonicuriosity's Matt Howarth writes "Good time music that'll get you dancing."

Stratospheerius features Joe Deninzon on vocals and electric violin, Lucianna Padmore on drums, bassist Bob Bowen, guitarist Mack Price and percussionist Benny Koonyevsky. Stratospheerius has showcased its "psychojazz trip funk" at colleges, festivals, and clubs throughout the US. Conjuring a "Demented Fiddler on the Roof" aura, Joe has worked with artists including Ritchie Blackmore, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Sheryl Crow. Previous releases include LIVE WIRES, THE ADVENTURES OF STRATOSPHEERIUS, and ELECTRIC BLUE.

Stratospheerius was a winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, won the People's Choice Awards in the Cornucopia Festival, and named "Best Jam Band" in Musician's Atlas Independent Music Awards. Progsheet's John Wilcox loves Stratospheerius' live show, " It's refreshing to see such good natured energy and fusion with an element of fun."
