NUEVA LEON, mexico (Top40 Charts/ Album Official Website) - Mexican band Album have been distinguished for giving away all their eclectic electronic rock music for free on the internet, but, ironically, mostly for being one of the most google resistant band names out there. But they hope it all changes with their latest LP titled "Cancer Baby". "At first we were concerned of people taking offense or even ridiculizing the name" said Bul, vocalist and producer, "but then we realized that even if it were the worst album name in history, it'd be a thousand times easier to find in search engines than Album... you'd be surprise how many people complain on how hard it is to find us." "Cancer Baby" is the fourth LP in the band's catalouge and along with a weird (and even funny) title, it marks their first release with very anglo-friendly songs, a couple of them even completely in english. "Stab You" was a featured track during their recent SXSW visit to the us, and managed to raise the ears of various listeners with it's smooth vocals and sampled brass hits. More recently "Some People Get Rich" was a featured track in a monthly rock compilation distributed on p2p services, and features frenetic beats and dinamic sample overuse. A couple of other tracks that feature lyrics in english are "el himno de la generacion", featuring mexican m.c. Porno, with a flaunting techno-polka outro, and "Future" which oscilates between beatlesque melodies sandwhiching a mexican rock part. Album are firm believers in that "music should be free", and have made "Cancer Baby" available for free on their website, alongside the rest of their catalog. Recently they performed in the USA at the SXSW and CMJ music festivals, and have gotten rave reviews for their previous LPs.
