NEW YORK, NY & LONDON, UK. (Top40 Charts/ Orchard) - The Orchard (NASDAQ: ORCD), a global leader in digital music and entertainment, and One Media Publishing Group plc, today announced that the UK based rights owner has renewed its exclusive worldwide digital distribution and marketing agreement with The Orchard. The renewal also newly grants The Orchard rights to offer One Media's catalogue for use in The Orchard's growing
Brand Entertainment division, which provides digital media solutions to brands and ad agencies.
The renewed deal with One Media comes at a time of aggressive deal-making by the UK-based entertainment company, and on the heels of their announcing exclusive worldwide digital rights to 124 Pavarotti recordings, including some of the virtuoso's most famous performances from operas including, Tosca, Rigoletto, Cosi Fan Tutte, 'O Sole Mio,' and Turandot ('Nessum Dorma').
Commenting on the deal, One Media Managing Director Michael Infante, said, "Our relationship with the Orchard has been a 'road to success' for bringing One Media's music to the digital market. In a little under two years we have listed over 1,200 albums so far, with a further 800 now in the pipeline. Our acquisitive trail for music and music video copyrights has been efficiently delivered to all websites currently within the Orchard's remit. We are delighted to have extended deal and look forward to a mutually beneficial trading relationship.'
Building on The Orchard's past two years of focused marketing and promotion, and a corresponding doubling of One Media's digital revenues over the past year, One Media's upcoming digital release schedule anticipated a monthly output of some 100 albums of major artist recordings across many diverse genres.
