NEW YORK (Smashing Pumpkins Fans Website) - A new studio release from ex-Smashing Pumpkin Billy Corgan is now one step closer, as his new band Zwan - which also features ex-Pumpkin drummer Jimmy Chamberlin - has signed a deal with Reprise Records.

Although no release date for the band's debut is nailed down, the label hopes to have something out by the beginning of next year. Reports that an album will surface by year's end are a tad ambitious, according to a spokesperson for the band at the label.

Meanwhile, Zwan, now a five-piece with the addition of bassist Paz Lenchantin (A Perfect Circle), will be making the radio station Christmas festival rounds in December with gigs in:
- Boston (Dec. 11)
- New York (Dec. 12)
- Washington, D.C. (Dec. 13)
- Philadelphia (Dec. 15) and
- Detroit (Dec. 17).
Zwan is also scheduled to play Las Vegas on Dec. 5.
