NEW YORK (RUN DMC Fans Website) - A $250,000 reward has been ponied up by the Hip-Hop Summit Youth Council for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons who murdered Run-DMC DJ Jam Master Jay, according to Charles Fisher, Founder and Chairman of the Council. Fisher also stresses that this reward is completely separate from the $62,000 reward currently on the table from Russell Simmons and the New York Police Department, and that those coming forward can do so anonymously, without the involvement of the police. Jay was gunned down inside a Queens studio in New York in October. Police have yet to make an arrest in the case, but reports surfacing this week have indicated they are pursuing several possible leads, including an ex-con and drug dealer, who is believed to be hiding out in the Washington, D.C., area. Following Jay's murder, Run-DMC announced its retirement from hip-hop.
