Rob Thomas loves cats!

NEW YORK (Matchbox 20 Fans Website) - Marisol Thomas, wife of Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas, is hosting the first MEOW NY, an event to raise funds for New York City's street cats on Tuesday (November 12). The benefit is being held at the Gallery at the One Club. The couple will be in attendance, as well as soap opera stars Ron Raines and Grant Aleksander. Other celebrities will also be in attendance.

Artwork will be auctioned off, and screenings of Shadow Cats, a documentary on cats living on New York City streets will be shown, all to raise money to improve cats' living conditions and for rescue, socialization, and adoption programs. Along with the art, a signed guitar by Thomas will also be auctioned off. The main beneficiary will be Neighborhood Cats, New York City's feral cat resource.

Matchbox Twenty's More Than You Think You Are is slated to be released November 19, and the band will make appearances on The Late Show With David Letterman November 18, Late Night With Conan O'Brien November 22, and Last Call With Carson Daly on November 29.
