Washington, D.C. (Top40 Charts/ South Capitol Recordings) - Profound Intent's frontman Larry Pretlow II, professionally known as LaPret has been in the studio working on his Solo Debut EP "Elected for President" due in stores August 2008. The 17 year-old Rapper from Washington, D.C. will soon be 18 on June 19th. He now seems to be emerging as the next big thing in the rap industry.
For the worldwide release of his new album he has teamed up with the world's leading independent music distribution company "CDBaby" - confirmed today -. Pretlow currently has music featured on iTunes, including the 2008 single "Make U See" and 2007's "Do a Dub". As a founding-member of Profound Intent his "light" continues to outshine the group and has now earned him the chance to "glow" even more.

The rapper has set his sights on signing a major recording deal. Def Jam, Columbia and Bad Boy Records are rumored to be his top picks. He has stated that his ties with South Capitol Recordings are bound by an agreement allowing him to exit the label to sign a major deal. South Capitol is only in the business of "releasing records" and not "managing careers". A portion of the proceeds from "Elected for President" will cover a donation to the label.

Formerly known as Lil'Kilah, the rapper was rumored to be linked to Fallon King of Cherish and Teairra Mari - official spokespersons of the three have denied having any knowledge of such affiliations . LaPret has appeared in photos with Kelly Price and Lyfe Jennings. He recently hosted a show on BlogTalkRadio.com about Russell Simmons and his call for the removal of three words from rap music.

"South Capitol Recordings" signed Profound Intent - according to ASCAP Playback Magazine - in Spring 2007, the label has continuously pushed for the group's split. After the October 2007 release of their "Still Profound" album was canceled, rumors sparked that the group had disbanded.

On April 01, 2008 the release of their "Stop Signs Don't Exist" EP was announced for a July 29, 2008 release, it is now on hold. The group garnered media controversy in late-2006 when their single "Time 2 Shine" was mistaken for a slam at "Beyonce and 50 Cent".

Original members Kie'Arra "Mizz Redz" Pretlow and Devan "Aze" Brockenberry will also "glow" with their solo efforts. Despite the fact that the trio collectively has yet to establish a radio or chart hit they refuse to call it quits, insisting that the "Stop Signs Don't Exist" EP will be released. Working consistently, the group has retreated to the studio where they will remain during the LaPret solo run.
