NEW YORK (Beyonce Fans Website) - Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles will be among the Hollywood and Broadway stars gathered to raise money for the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health at New York's Waldorf-Astoria on November 12.

Monahan, Today show co-host Katie Couric's late husband, died from colon cancer in 1998. The event, which was organized by Couric, is called "42nd & Vine...Hollywood Hits Broadway."

In addition to a performance by country superstar Vince Gill and his wife, Amy Grant, the fundraiser will feature performances from West Side Story and appearances by Robin Williams, Susan Sarandon, Kelsey Grammer, Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, Bette Midler, Tony Danza, The Sopranos cast members Tony Sirico, John Ventimiglia, Steve Schirripa, and Federico Castelluccio, among others.

The Monahan Center is the first comprehensive, fully integrated, and interdisciplinary program that stresses education and prevention in addition to diagnosis and treatment of GI cancer. The Center's goal is to make dealing with the difficult diagnosis of these cancers much easier for patients and their families.
The Jay Monahan Center will be located in the Stich building on the New York Weill Cornell campus of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The Center is due to open in early 2004.
