Atlanta, GA (Top40 Charts/ BMI) - Broadcast Music, Inc., the U.S. performing right organization, announces the return of its highly successful Latin music showcase, BMI Presents. The 2008 series will kick off with "Latin World Sound Sessions" on Tuesday, March 25 at 8:00p.m, featuring performances by talented World and Tropical music acts, Edwin Vazquez, Batista, Felle Vega and Zon del Barrio at S.O.B's (204 Varick Street, NYC). Doors open at 7:00 p.m. - Admission by invitation only.

The BMI Presents showcase series is New York's hottest ticket and these acts are guaranteed to set the soul on fire. This event will feature sounds from the tropics, beats from el Barrio and grooves from around the globe. Coats should be checked and dancing shoes kept on.

"Latin World Sound Sessions" will bring back the spirit of New York City's thriving Latin jazz and salsa golden era. Acts like the legendary Latin band Zon del Barrio (We are from the Barrio), will bring an arsenal of sounds from their Afro Caribbean rhythms and teach modern music lovers a thing-or-two about roots, with sounds of Bomba y Plena Latin Jazz, Classic Salsa, Merengue and classic rhythms.

Hot Latin acts like Felle Vega, a guru of tropical groove and guitar strumming; singer/songwriter Batista, who meshes various genres to create a sound described as "Pop International Urban Latino music"; and the talented singer/songwriter, Edwin Vazquez, who blends different styles of Jazz, R&B and Salsa, all plan to bring the heat. Their performance may be responsible for increased mercury levels on downtown Manhattan's thermometer.

The drums, timbales and strings will translate the meaning of "Latin World Sound Sessions". These talented singer/songwriters embody authentic Latin Soul. "Latin music is one of the greatest success stories in the music business for the past five years. At BMI we will continue our commitment to the songwriters, composers and music publishers and 2008 will be another great year for Latin music," said Porfirio Pina, BMI's Director, Writer / Publisher Relations - Latin.
