Snoop Dogg Returns With 6th Solo Album

NEW YORK (Snoop Fans Website) - Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss, Snoop Dogg's sixth studio album, is scheduled for a November 26 release.

The album, which features production from The Neptunes, Just Blaze, DJ Premier and Jelly Roll and FredWreck (two of the West Coast's hottest up-and-coming producers), as well as appearances from Jay-Z, Redman and Nate Dogg, solidifies Snoop's status as hip-hop's most important figure. The Long Beach rapper runs businesses (his own Doggystyle Records and Snoop Dogg Clothing line), acts in award-winning movies ("Training Day") and still creates classic albums that push the genre to new heights ("Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss").

"From Tha Chuuch to Tha Palace," The Neptunes-produced lead single from Snoop's new album, lets long-time Snoop fans know that nothing's changed. He's just updated his revolutionary style. As Snoop raps on the brag-heavy cut, he's "still got the gin and juice in hand."

Don't get it twisted, though. Snoop hasn't toned down his searing side. He brings his typical gangster-meets-pimp-flavored heat throughout most of Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss. On the gangster side, he blasts everyone from Xzibit to Kurupt to Death Row Records' notorious honcho on the blistering "Pimp't Slapped." "Suge Knight's a bitch and that's on my life," he snarls over the funk-inspired beat by the promising Josef Leimberg.

Elsewhere, Snoop puts his pimp style on full display. "You Got What I Want," "Suited N Booted," "Boss Playa," "Wasn't Yo Fault" and the Just Blaze-produced "Lollipop" will thrill playas from coast to coast.

Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss marks the creative development of Snoop Dogg, who had the hip-hop world waiting for his next move after his stunning appearance with Dr. Dre in early 1992 on the title track to the soundtrack of the Laurence Fishburne movie "Deep Cover." Since then, Snoop Dogg has emerged as one of hip-hop's most dynamic players, rapping with everyone from Jay-Z to the Wu-Tang Clan to Jermaine Dupri to OutKast.

As Snoop proclaims on the Jellyroll-produced "Stop Light," he's "First place in the race and don't wanna lose it." There's little chance of that happening, of course. After all, he's "Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss."
