NEW YORK (Eminem Fans Website) - It was only supposed to be a screening of 8 Mile, but Eminem gave attendees quite the pleasant surprise Friday (Oct. 11) night.

Some 1,700 people were gathered at the Michigan State Auditorium in East Lansing, Mich., for the screening of the rapper's new movie. But, instead of his new hit, "Lose Yourself," playing during the closing credits, the movie screen rolled up to reveal Em with his posse D12 performing the track live instead.

Eminem and crew went on to perform a 45-minute set, according to the Michigan State campus newspaper, the State News.
The whole thing was shot for the premiere of MTV Jammed, which will air at 10 p.m. Nov. 6.

Rumors had flown around campus for weeks that Eminem might make an appearance, but those rumors had been quashed by university officials who wanted to keep the whole thing low-key. Still, the rumors were enough to create a long lineup Friday night outside the venerable auditorium.
