ORLANDO, FL (Hard Rock Cafe Official Website) - For the third consecutive year, Hard Rock Cafe has joined Lifetime Television's campaign to "Stop Breast Cancer for Life" through the sale of commemorative pins and T-shirts.
Hard Rock Cafe and Lifetime will also raise funds by auctioning guitars signed by the performers of the third annual "Women Rock! Girls & Guitars," including Michelle Branch,
Gloria Estefan, host Jennifer Love Hewitt, Chaka Khan, The
Pretenders and Lee Ann Womack, which airs on Lifetime on October 25 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).
Over the past two years, the partnership has raised more than $200,000 for the fight against breast cancer through the sales of commemorative pins and guitar auctions, and has added the special-edition T-shirt to this year's fundraising efforts.
"Hard Rock Cafe is proud to partner with Lifetime again this year to champion the fight against breast cancer," said Pete Beaudralt, President/CEO of Hard Rock Cafe, International. "Breast cancer affects people from all walks of life, including musicians and music fans. We are privileged to be a part of this program, and to offer our loyal customers an opportunity to support this important cause."
Beginning October 1, the commemorative 2002 Breast Cancer Guitar Pin will be on sale at all Hard Rock Cafe locations in the United States, and both the pin and pink-and-white "Stop Breast Cancer for Life" T-shirts will be available through hardrock.com. Forty percent of the proceeds from the sale of the pink pins ($10.99) and special-edition T-shirts ($20.00) will go directly to the leading non-profit breast cancer organizations including the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), the National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO), Breast Cancer Action, Nueva Vida, SHARE, Sisters Network, Inc., Y-ME and the Young Survival Coalition.
The online auction of the ten limited edition Fender Stratocaster guitars, autographed by the "Women Rock! Girls & Guitars" performers, begins on October 25 on hardrock.com, with all proceeds benefiting the breast cancer charities.
