NEW YORK (RnB NY Magazine) - Missy Elliott, Tweet, and Lucinda Williams are just some of the artists confirmed to perform in the first-ever Vanity Fair In Concert Series to benefit the Step Up Women's Network. The 2002 series will launch with a concert featuring Elliott, Tweet, and Howie Day at Irving Plaza in New York City on October 22. A concert featuring a soon-to-be-announced lineup will follow on November 3 at the Metro in Chicago, and another concert will take place at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on November 5. Confirmed artists for the Los Angeles bill include Lucinda Williams, Neil Finn, Joe Henry, Rosey, and John Doe. The concerts will take place in conjunction with the release of Vanity Fair's annual November music issue. The New York show will include a tribute to Aaliyah, who was scheduled to perform last November's Step Up benefit concert, Breathe, before her untimely death in August 2001. Elliott and Tweet will perform "Where My Girls At?" for the first time together as part of the tribute. All proceeds from the concert series, presented by DKNY, will benefit the Step Up Women's Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing funding for women's health issues and women's advocacy organizations through national and local events. Tickets for the New York and Los Angeles concerts go on sale Saturday (September 28), and the Chicago on-sale date will be announced shortly.
