CHICAGO, Ill. (Chicago Sun-Times) - R. Kelly is facing charges of videotaping sex acts with a minor, but his lawyers may be planning to put an unexpected twist on the case. Rumours are circulating that R. Kelly's defence lawyers will argue that the man who appears in the videotaped encounter is not their client, but actually his brother. The gossip doesn't seem to have affected the brothers. Even though Carey denies the allegation, he stood with other R. Kelly supporters outside the courthouse when his brother attended a pre-trial hearing last Friday. An actual trial is not expected until next year.
If convicted of the child pornography charges, Kelly faces up to 15 years in jail. Carey Kelly told the Chicago Sun-Times, "The person on those tapes is not me. If need be, I am willing to take a lie detector test to prove that it is not me. No dollar amount in the world could get me to do that. I have kids."
