Music Nation (www.MusicNation.com), the online home for independent music, today announced the launch of a unique joint venture with Bug
Music / Windswept (www.BugMusic.com), the largest North American independent music publisher.
Music Nation with their artist development division, Original Signal Recordings, will scout songwriters and jointly sign them to publishing deals with Bug
Music / Windswept; this agreement showcases another way artists can reap benefits and achieve career sustainability from working with
Music Nation. Additionally, the companies will launch a singer-songwriter competition together in conjunction with Epic Records in early 2008.
Music Nation, acting as a digital A&R source, will work together with Bug Music / Windswept to discover and sign songwriters from within its online music community and beyond. The two companies will jointly sign artists to co-publishing and administration deals, with Bug Music / Windswept acting as the publisher. Music Nation will act as a conduit to Bug Music / Windswept for its artists, exposing them to a leading publisher and affording them the opportunity to take advantage of the company's invaluable creative and administrative services.

Music Nation and Bug Music / Windswept will launch their first singer-songwriter competition in the coming year on the Music Nation site. The winning artist will be awarded a record deal - signed jointly by Original Signal Recordings and Epic Records - and a publishing deal with Bug Music / Windswept, among other prizes to be announced.
