CHICAGO, Ill. (Rollng Stones & U2 Fans Websites) - The Rolling Stones were joined by U2 frontman Bono for a version of "It's Only Rock And Roll (But I Like It)" Monday night (September 16) at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. Bono walked on stage unannounced; said nothing to the crowd of 5,000; sang on the 1974 Stones hit; and then walked off. Another guest cameo followed, with Dr. John sitting in on piano for a version of the Muddy Waters-Willie Dixon blues chestnut, "I Just Want To Make Love To You." The U2 singer was in Chicago a day early for a Tuesday (September 17) taping of the Oprah Winfrey show, talking about his campaign to assist people in developing nations. The Winfrey program with Bono is scheduled to be broadcast this Friday (September 20).
The Stones 40 Licks tour rolls on to Philadelphia for three dates. The band plays Wednesday (September 18) at Veterans Stadium, Friday (September 20) at First Union Center, and Sunday (September 22) at the Tower Theatre.
