SANTA MONICA, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Savoy Jazz) - Cleveland native Jim Brickman will give an instrumental performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" at this year's American League Division Series game pitting the Cleveland Indians against the New York Yankees. Brickman's newly released album, aptly titled "Homecoming," hit stores September 25 and already peaked at No 1 this week, marking this performance as a double-celebration of Cleveland-natives' success stories, and is a true thrill for Brickman to "open" for his favorite baseball team. Jim's performance begins at 4:45pm EDT on Friday, October 5 and will be broadcast nationally on TBS. Already crowned the No 1 Charting Artist of all time at the Adult Contemporary radio format, Jim Brickman has done it again with "Homecoming," which features a diverse roster of guest performers including Lonestar's Richie McDonald, who is featured on the first single, "Coming Home for Christmas." Other musical collaborators include the late Gerald Levert, who contributed one of his last vocal performances on "My Angel," as well as jazz luminary Peter White, whose guitar talents are showcased on the track, "Joy." Throughout his career Jim has often reflected upon the sights and sounds of Cleveland in his music, and "Homecoming" proves no exception. The Savoy Label Group (SLG) features not only the historic Savoy Jazz label but also Denon Classics and 429 Records. SLG is the North American unit of Columbia Music Entertainment (formerly Nippon Columbia), the oldest music company in Japan. Newly reorganized and now headed by Chairman Strauss Zelnick, Columbia Music Entertainment has re-emerged as a significant creative force with a stable of newly signed platinum-selling artists. SLG is one of the most successful marketers of adult music in the U.S. and focuses on classical, jazz, new age, world and adult alternative genres.
