Winter Park, FL. (Top40 Charts/ Full Sail Real World Education) - Full Sail Real World Education (www.fullsail.com) is proud to congratulate graduate,
Maria Gaucin, on her fourth Latin GRAMMY nomination.
Gaucin, who graduated with a degree in Recording Arts in 2002, is now a four-time Latin GRAMMY nominee and to date, is the only female engineer to have ever taken home the coveted award. In 2005, only three short years after graduation from Full Sail, Gaucin was nominated twice - one nomination with the band, "La Mafia" for Best Grupero Album which won, and another with the band, "Los Palominos" for Best Norteno Album. One year later in 2006, "La Mafia" was nominated once again for Best Tajano Album, which also won, and Gaucin took home her second Latin GRAMMY Award. Now in 2007, Gaucin is facing her fourth nomination with the band "Los Palominos" for Best Tejano Album, and is going for her third Latin GRAMMY win in a row.
"It still seems unbelievable that I would achieve all of this in such a short amount of time. Working with some of the best artists in this industry is amazing and a wonderful experience for me. In school, I learned so much from all of my teachers at Full Sail. They gave me the confidence I needed to apply myself in this business. Full Sail gave me the up-to-date skills that are needed in the studio right now, as well as learning the proper studio etiquette which has helped me tremendously in my career," said Gaucin.
Gaucin will be nominated at the 8th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards in Las Vegas on November 8, 2007. Currently, she is the Studio Manager and Chief Engineer for Urbana Recording Studios in Houston, Texas.
Full Sail's Program Director of Recording Arts, Bill Smith said, "For Maria to currently be the only female engineer to win a Latin GRAMMY Award is truly a remarkable honor, and we are so proud to be part of her outstanding and continued success."
