Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Verve Records) - As the release date for Diana Krall's first ever career retrospective, 'The Very Best of Diana Krall' (9/18, Verve), approaches, the pianist and vocalist enjoyed praise from journalists all along her national tour route. Pulling out many tunes from the 'Best Of' during her sets, some of which she hasn't played in 5 years, critics raved, "Krall is the best thing that ever happened to American song" (Hollywood Reporter, 8.20.07).

The new record celebrates selections from six albums of the multi-platinum vocalist's repertoire, and debuts three previously unreleased songs "Only The Lonely" (from 'The Look of Love' sessions), "You Go To My Head" (from 'The Look of Love' sessions) and Tom Waits' "The Heart of Saturday Night" (from 'The Girl In The Other Room' sessions).

Krall, who performed on Live with Regis Kelly this morning, will also revisit these selections from her illustrious 14 year career with appearances on The Tonight Show on 9/24 and the Late and Late, Show w/ Craig Ferguson on 10/5.

"Utterly gripping interpretive sensitivity"
- Don Heckman, Los Angeles Times (8.20.07)

"Like the late Shirley Horn, [Krall] continues to pull it off with taste and fine musicianship."
- Phil Gallo, Daily Variety (8.19.07)

"She has a wonderfully relaxed rapport...held her own while performing pieces that required a demanding yet seemingly effortless level of interplay."
- Mike Joyce, Washington Post (7.18.07)

"The expressive piano playing, the dry, carefully etched vocals - has made her a phenomenon"
- Joel Selvin, San Francisco Chronicle (7.11.07)

"she's one of that near extinct breed of jazz artists with legitimate cred and impeccable chops who also relates to the masses"
- Joan Anderman, Boston Globe, 7.16.07

"Krall's interpretive gifts stretch beyond any specific time period or genre."
- Christopher Treacy, Boston Herald (7.15.07)
