The Rolling Stones played a surprise, warm-up gig Friday (Aug. 16) at the club Palais Royale in Toronto. Among the songs the group played were "Brown Sugar," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Wild Horses," "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," "Torn and Frayed," "Hot Stuff," "Happy," and "Can't Turn You Loose." The gig was a warm-up show for the group's Licks World Tour kickoff on Sept. 3 at the FleetCenter in Boston. As previously reported, the Stones' tour takes them to 27 cities for 40 shows in the U.S. and Canada for now, with more dates to be announced in Europe, Australia, the Far East, and possibly their first concerts in China.
